Let me think. How many slippers have I made to fill my family's Christmas order? Yes I know. It's just that I have been so busy drawing for my Etsy Shop that I haven't had much time for crocheting.
I did manage to complete another pair of women's slippers and I even wrote the crochet pattern for you.
Materials
·
1 skein of yarn (364 yards) for the main color; yarn weight: worsted 10 ply (medium 4).
Small amount of yarn in second color.
5 mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle to sew in the ends
Scissors
Pattern
Starting
at the Toe
Row 1 – CH 1 and 8 HDC in the first
chain from the hook. Join with a SS.
Row 2 – CH 1 and 2 HDC in each stitch
around (16 stitches). Join with a SS.
Row 3 – CH 1 and 2 HDC in the next
stitch and 1 HDC in the next stitch. Continue with 2 DC in the next stitch and
DC in the next until you reach the end (24 stitches). Join with a SS.
Row 4
thru Row 8 –
CH 1 and HDC in each stitch around. Join with a SS. Tie off.
* This
pattern will fit a foot size of about 7 or 8. You can make the slippers larger
by simply adding rows at this point. Each row equals approximately a half size.
So, for a size 9, add two rows.
Fold the
slipper in half, using the seam created when joining the rows with a SS. This
will be the bottom of the slipper.
Join the
yarn two stitches in. This leaves a total of 4 stitches on the top that aren’t
worked.
Row 9 – CH 1 and HDC in the next 19
stitches. CH 1 and turn.
Row 10 to
Row 17 – HDC in
each stitch across. CH 1 and turn.
* This
pattern will fit a foot size of about 6 or 7. You can make the slippers larger
by simply adding rows at this point. I believe each row will equal about a half
size. So, for a size 8, add two rows.
Row 18 – HDC in each stitch
across. Tie off.
Back of Heel
Using a
tapestry needle, sew the back heel of the slipper together with the long end of
yarn. Just weave the yarn through and tie off at the bottom. Weave in the extra
yarn on the bottom of the slipper with the tapestry needle.
Row 19 – Join second color at back of heel. You are now
working along the top edge of the slipper. CH 1, 31 SC all the way around the
top edge (32 SC in total around top edge). Join with a SS.
Row 20 to Row 24 – CH 1 and SC in the next 31
stitches. Join with a SS.
Row 25 to Row 32 – CH 2 and HDC in the next 31
stitches. Join with a SS.
Row 33 – CH 2 and HDC in the next 31 stitches. Join with a SS. Tie off and weave
tail into slipper.
I love to read your opinions and comments. It makes my day.
Bye for now.
Wishing you the best, Darlene
